summery mood
It's summer.
It's hot.
Just take me to the beach and it's the perfect way to listen to reggae.

So I missed 2 days of posting...again... Well, can't blame me, I was quite busy the whole week.
One, it's my last week in my current project and I had to finish all pending works given to me as a project checker. Next week, I'll be assigned to another project and from what I've heard, they require a lot of overtime from the engineers, aargh.
Two: In relation with reason one, since I'll be saying buh-bye with my co-workers in this project, I had a despedida. Yes, my eyes are rolling, heh-heh. It's as if I'll be transferring to a far-away place but no, I'm not. I'll just be moving one floor down. Oh well, guess my friends just didn't want to let me go, so we had the usual lunch outs for two days, and then last Thursday, we hit the bar at night. Hmmm, i suddenly remember, a friend promised to treat me to starbucks! I better bug him next week, lol.
Yesterday was Friday-off and the family went to Splash Island! It was so much fun! At first I didn't plan to swim the whole day coz you know, the sun is not really kind to my *aging* skin, lol. But when we got inside, I discovered that we could do a lot of activities aside from swimming. First there was this huge pool with waves! Cool! So my initial plan of staying under the shade was totally scratched out. When we got tired of the pool with waves, we checked out the other attractions -- the balsa river, the magellan drop, king pilipit and all other sorts of giant slides. Uhm, I tried all of them and it was really fun, well, scary kind of fun. At first the slides really looked intimidating and scary but once you tried sliding, you'll go back for more. For me, I just did two times with each slide, because it was really a pain going up to the top hehehe. It was like climbing the stairs of a 5storey building. So, 2times of the slide was good enough for me, thank you.
So now my back, arms and legs are aching. And I'm burned. Literally and figuratively.

This was in Saud Beach in Pagudpod, Ilocos Norte:

We checked out the windmills in Bangui, Ilocos Norte, along the way towards Pagudpud...

We even stopped by to enjoy halo-halo "by-the-highway":

...Then we went to climb the Cape Bojeador Lighthouse in Burgos, Ilocos Norte...
More to come: Our pictures in Vigan and Enchanted Kingdom !!!
Something drastic happened over the weekend -- it became so insanely hot!!!! You can just see the faces of people in the streets, specially those inside their cars with their aircons busted, those people in sardine-like packed buses -- man, they look really miserable.
Last Saturday, 8pm was supposedly the "earth hour" thingie. We received e-mails and text messages telling us to turn off lights for one whole hour, starting at exactly 8pm (i dunno if only the lights would be turned off, or does it include all power-consuming appliances?). Apparently this was already done in other parts of the world and it made a difference in the environment or something. Well, I forgot about it but this friend of mine texted me minutes before 8 and I was like caught in the middle whether to do it or not. First, I was watching tv. Second, it was freaking hot! So what I just did was turn off all unnecessary lights in the house. Hey, it's my fair share, and besides, when I looked outside my window, all my neighbors also had their lights on. Oh well, I just hope that majority of my countrymen are NOT like me. Right, I am sooo bad...
I found this nice song... I like the lyrics...

"Beautiful Life (La Bella Vita)"
by Lindsay Lohan
God won't talk to me
I guess she's pretty busy lately
I'd like to believe
She's listening
I'm starting to feel
All of my bruises imagined are real
And I'll get through each day
I dig through the bad ones
To get to the good ones
Who's keeping score anyway
And this is my beautiful life
The only thing certain is everything changes
Lows and the highs
And all those goodbyes
As hard as it gets I know it's still amazing
To be alive
It's a beautiful life
I talk in my sleep
That's the one place I know no one can hear me
I tell my self things
Don't walk in the shadows, there's always tomorrow
And I'm right where I want to be
And this is my beautiful life
The only thing certain is everything changes
Lows and the highs
And all those goodbyes
As hard as it gets I know it's still amazing
To be alive
Oh it hurts while it's happening I wanna feel everything
How can you know 'til you try?
And this is my beautiful life
My beautiful life
The only thing certain is everything changes
Lows and the highs
And all those goodbyes
As hard as it gets I know it's still is amazing
To be alive
It's a beautiful life [4x]
It's my first day in the office after a 10-day vacation.
Back to reality.
But still, the images of vacation is at the back of my mind...
Ahh, I love summer.

Umagang Kay Ganda
by The New Minstrels
Halika na pumikit limutin ang problema
Hihintayin ang umaga
Magpahinga, panaginip ang ikaliligaya
Darating din ang umaga
[CHORUS]
Basta't tayo'y magkasama
Laging mayro'ng umagang kay ganda
Pagsikat ng araw
May dalang liwanag
Sa ating pangarap, ooh...
haharapin natin (haharapin natin)
Magpahinga, panaginip ang ikaliligaya
Darating din ang umaga
[CHORUS]
Basta't tayo'y magkasama
Laging mayro'ng umagang kay ganda
Pagsikat ng araw
May dalang liwanag
Sa ating pangarap, ooh...
haharapin natin (haharapin natin)
[BRIDGE]
Ang sikat ng araw
Na may dalang liwanag
[CHORUS]
Basta't tayo'y magkasama
Laging mayro'ng umagang kay ganda
Pagsikat ng araw
May dalang liwanag
Sa ating pangarap, ooh...
haharapin natin (haharapin natin)
Well what do you know, i'm here in Laoag City, northern part of the Philippines. As I've said in my last post, my family will be travelling from south to north as part of our so-called summer vacation. We stopped over at Baguio City, stayed overnight there, and then proceeded here the next day. After a night of rest at Laoag, we went to Pagudpud, a beach haven here in the north. Whew! it was really very tiring but the kids had fun. Right now, the kids and I are here in the town internet cafe to have a half hour of web surfing (yeah, we can't let go of our city ways, heh-heh). Later when we go back, we'll have a calesa ride!
Sorry, no photos and music yet, it will take a long time posting them here... i'm paying by the minute y'know....
So until then...
Tomorrow marks the start of our (family's) official 10-day vacation. Hubby and I will take a leave from the office and the kids' final exams end today! Hooray, school's out at last!
We're going to Baguio City, that's the summer capital of the Philippines, which will take about 6-7 hours drive from our place. We'll stay overnight there, then proceed to Laoag, a further 7 hours drive more.
So right now, I'm making sure that all my 2-weeks worth of office work will be done by today, aargh!!! Then add to that my last minute listing of what to bring during the looong driving hours. Shall I bring my i-pod? Is the battery fully charged? Will it last the entire course? Note: my car charger got stuck the first time i used it, it took a car mechanic to remove the charger... so I'm now hesitant to use it.... Maybe I'll just burn tons of mp3s in a CD and just play it while driving... that is, if I still have time to do that tonight... oh well. Talk about last minute preparations...
I'm not sure if I can post during my vacation, but I'm planning to bring the laptop with me... just in case I got bored in the province, heehee.
I'll post lots of photos as soon as we come back...
