Yeah, 'twas my birthday yesterday.  As a treat, I took my 2 daughters, aged 13 and 12 to a posh salon, and we had our hair done.  They were so excited and they liked how their hair turned out after the usual shampoo-trim-blowdry stuff.  As for me, I didn't like how the hairstylist suddenly snipped my hair in front, resulting to some bangs in my hair.  Pauline commented I looked like a japayuki... I thought, well, that's better than looking like a matrona... or is it the other way around?

Hubby bought Yellow Cab pizza, pasta and chicken for lunch.  Then took me to Makati for a birthday *date*.  Seems we're kind of happy nowadays.  If you get what I mean...

I got plenty of greetings from friends -- starting at midnight, thanks C.  Maybe he's just making up for his late greetings last mother's day, heh-heh.  And just hours ago, I was still receiving texts from friends... thank y'all!!!

I've met again a person who's mother I share the same birthday with... (in simpler terms, his mom & i have the same birthday)... I just discovered this some weeks ago because he told me so... This is the second time I've met somebody like him (with a mom who has the same birthday as mine)... the first one was in college... so I was thinking, since these guys are quite close to me... Hmmm... maybe they see their moms in me? hahaha... Or maybe my maternal instincts are really that strong that I tend to take extra care of friends... through thick and thin...

Speaking of maternal instincts, I was able to watch almost the entire season of American Idol 7.  Yes, from auditions down to the last 12 finalists.  This is because Star World Channel on cable had a marathon showing of AI starting last Friday night... It was really non-stop (marathon nga e!) and i was hooked.  And I found David Archuleta sooo cute and adorable, I wanted to adopt him!  He was so confident and brilliant while singing, but afterwards, he'll be his shy self again, just smiling from ear to ear. Aaaw.... Now I really don't care which David wins (since I was actually rooting for David Cook last week, hee) in this Season 7.

I wasn't able to post the whole weekend, so i'm making it up today...

I was so busy the whole 3-day weekend.  Last Thursday, my friend Miriam had her long overdue birthday celebration, wherelse but in a videoke club.  We kept on postponing the *bash* because of the weather and some office activities last week.  It almost didn't push through again because of some hotel siege brought about by some rebel military officers.  Hmp!  But everything was already planned, from the drinks, to the venue, to the invitees, to the food, that nothing and nobody could stop us.  Then at 7pm we were told that there would be a 12MN - 5AM curfew so we had to leave at around 10pm.  Ooooh... anyway, it was really fun!  Lots of music, dancing, food and drinks!  As in tequila mixed with margarita.  Beat that!  But we went home before 11pm, so technically, good girls naman kami.

she has this sweet girly voice when she talks... but wait 'til she sings "wherever you will go" (a guy's song!) and you'd think you're hearing a man's voice...

she looks so fragile but she was able to carry 2 huge shopping bags full of what-have-you's from divisoria...

she seems very naive...but was brave enough to commute by bus from alabang to san pablo city in laguna...at 2 o'clock in the morning...

...and she looks 23 but actually, she already turned 27 just last nov 14th...

so to the birthday girl kristine... here's wishing you the best!  let's drink to that!

NEWS FLASH:  KRISTINE'S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION EXTENDED 'TIL FRIDAY, @ HARDROCK CAFE, MAKATI

The gang - Tin, X, Mae+Dada, Miriam, Liz and yours truly - planned a dance night out at Hard Rock Cafe.

No dancing took place, coz Nina (sige na nga, sikat na singer na siya), was scheduled to sing that night, and dancing would start after her segment, which would be around 11+pm -- already beyond our bedtime! (hee)

So we just settled for Nina's songs, but in fairness, she was good, and she sang mostly pop songs and even a number of Beyonce songs...

ok, we enjoyed the night, but we're still craving to dance...

oh well, somebody's birthday is coming up, so we're actually looking forward to that occasion again...
