forbidden games
nope. this post is not something about that 3-letter word. it is actually the title of the background instrumental song currently playing. i've surfed the net all afternoon to look for the title -- all i got was either "romantic guitar" or "spanish romance". but i vividly remember that when i was in grade school, this was one of the first pieces i've tried in guitar plucking. moreover, i particularly recall that we (my tita and i) were singing to it with the words "forbidden games" at the end of the song. i tried googling for forbidden games lyrics and voila, i found it in youtube!
apparently, "forbidden games" was a very old song, as in circa 60s, but thanks to technology, we can still listen to it up to this day.
acknowledgement goes to jere for teaching me how to extract video from youtube. thanks also to randy for giving me a copy of Total Video Converter software, which i used to convert the video to audio format. whew! the things i'd do for my blog!
so click here to listen to Forbidden Games song (with words).
and here are the lyrics:
Forbidden Games
Miriam Makeba
Though it's forbidden for my arms to hold you
And though it's forbidden, my tears must have told you
That I hold you secretly each time we meet
In these forbidden games that I play
Though it's forbidden in dim quiet places
To capture the rainbows my aching heart chases
My bittersweet ecstasies come to me here
In these forbidden games that I play
(REFRAIN):
Everyone knows you belong to another
Spinning your magic for her and no other
Still, I've been content to be part of this fantasy
Part of this game that I play
(CHORUS):
Though it's forbidden and you'll love me never
I'll keep my love hidden and love you forever
Through countless eternities, you will be mine
In these forbidden games that I play
(REFRAIN)
(CHORUS)
In these forbidden games that I play
In these forbidden games that I play

I love it.
I can play the classic song of it.
